Kevin Pike Music

Composer and jazz saxophonist Kevin Pike loves a concept album. He has recorded and released 18 of them under his own name and with other musicians. In addition to saxophone, Kevin incorporates a variety of instruments into his recordings including banjo, mandolin, guitar, flute, lap steel guitar, piano, cavaco banjo, world percussion and various toy instruments. He also uses experimental recording techniques such as recording individual tracks in different rooms and locations, varipitch sampling (pitch and tempo manipulation) and layering ambient sounds from field recordings.

Kevin is currently working on a sax/banjo concept album that combines alto, tenor and baritone saxophones with 5-string banjo and the Brazilian cavaco banjo. He will be releasing new music from this project in July 2021.
